After some 1-2 weeks, due to rainfall, irrigation, or lawn mowing, the plugs loosen up and fill into the air spaces without causing compaction again. In this way, nutrients make their way back to your lawn’s roots.

Aeration should be done once a year for healthy lawns and twice a year for lawns with compacted soil and thatch buildup.
